It was a record breaking season for London Western Toastmasters. For the first time ever, we had more than one person running for the executive positions. We had 5 positions resulting in wonderful speeches. Congratulations to all those who participated and further congratulations to those who won their seats on the board.
Tonight we also heard three wonderful speeches. We had a new speaker give his first icebreaker speech on three steps of success. I found myself making notes. A more seasoned speaker gave her views on motherhood which is quite appropriate of upcoming Mother’s Day. Then was a proud moment. We had a gentle man from South Korea who gave an inspirational speech about being his or our time. This final speaker shared from his heart the trials and tribulations of his moving to Canada and how he overcame the challenges.
I hope this is not the last speech for either of the three speakers as they will all fantastic.
What I had learned tonight is how to be positive, have a winning attitude and not to give up.
